Senior Python FastAPI Developer (Automotive)

About the project
We’re looking for a Senior Python FastAPI Developer to join an international automotive project focused on building modern backend services that support connected vehicle platforms and digital mobility solutions.
You’ll become part of a highly skilled engineering team responsible for designing scalable microservices, integrating cloud-native solutions, and developing APIs used by millions of users worldwide. This role is offered through our client, a well-established technology organization delivering software for the automotive industry.

Your responsibilities
• Design and develop backend applications using Python and FastAPI
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
• Design scalable, secure, and high-performance backend architectures
• Integrate external systems and cloud services
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, QA, and Product Owners
• Review code and mentor less experienced developers

Must-have
• 5+ years of commercial experience with Python
• Strong experience with FastAPI
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming (async/await)
• Experience building REST APIs and microservices
• Good knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Experience with SQLAlchemy or similar ORM
• Docker and Kubernetes experience
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with Git and modern software development practices
• Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
• Very good English (B2+/C1)

Nice to have
• Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Knowledge of Redis
• Experience with event-driven architecture
• Terraform or Infrastructure as Code
• Automotive industry experience
• Knowledge of GraphQL
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus or Grafana
