Azure API Developer

We're looking for an experienced Senior Azure API Developer to join a high-impact engineering team delivering integration solutions for a leading global organisation within the financial services sector.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll influence technical architecture while remaining deeply involved in development. You'll work with modern Azure services, build robust API solutions, and help shape the future integration landscape of enterprise platforms used by thousands of users worldwide.

What you'll be doing
You'll take ownership of designing and developing secure, scalable integration solutions across enterprise platforms. Working closely with Solution Architects and engineering teams, you'll create modern API architectures, develop cloud-native services, and ensure applications remain reliable, performant, and maintainable.
Your day-to-day will include:
• Designing end-to-end API solutions and microservice integration patterns.
• Developing Azure-based integrations using Azure Functions, API Management and Service Bus.
• Building secure communication between backend services and frontend applications.
• Developing and optimizing Python-based solutions, with opportunities to work across Java or .NET environments.
• Writing high-quality, well-tested code throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Monitoring, troubleshooting and improving application performance using Azure Application Insights.
• Participating in architecture discussions, design reviews and technical decision-making.
• Supporting the evolution of cloud platforms, including future cloud migration initiatives.

We're looking for someone who has
• 7+ years of hands-on experience developing solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong expertise with Azure Functions, API Management (APIM), Service Bus and Application Insights.
• Excellent Python development skills alongside commercial experience with Java or .NET.
• Solid experience designing REST APIs and enterprise integration solutions.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-native application development.
• Extensive experience writing unit tests and maintaining high code quality standards.
• Experience building integrations within CRM or enterprise application environments.
• A collaborative mindset with the confidence to contribute to architectural discussions.

Nice to have
• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Exposure to cloud migration projects.
• Experience integrating commercial SaaS platforms into enterprise ecosystems.
